Traditional Chinese Medicine in Estavayer-le-Lac
Chinese Medicine
A complete medical system, built from clinical experience over more than two millennia — and still evolving.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is an empirical medical system developed in China over the past millennia. It first spread across East Asia, particularly to Korea and Japan, before reaching the West in the 20th century, where it has spread very rapidly in recent decades.
Its written history goes back more than 2000 years. Over time, Chinese physicians built on the experience of their predecessors and kept developing new therapeutic methods. When older methods no longer worked, they were replaced by more effective ones; when they proved themselves, they were kept. In this way, the most effective treatments emerged over the centuries.
This medicine does not simply aim to make a symptom disappear: it looks at the terrain that made it possible. Two people suffering from migraines will receive different treatments if the underlying imbalance is not the same. This is why the initial assessment matters so much.
