Traditional Chinese Medicine in Estavayer-le-Lac
Cupping
Gentle suction to release tension and restore circulation.
Cups are placed in particular on acupuncture points along the back, in order to expel pathogenic factors and promote the flow of Qi and blood. The method can also be applied to the treatment of pain or muscular tension.
Another important effect is the stimulation of the immune system — which is why cupping is frequently used at the onset of a cold or as a preventive measure during the cold season.
The only drawback is the appearance of circular bruises, which fade after about a week. Their colour actually tells the therapist something about local circulation. Bear this in mind if you have an event in light clothing in the following days.
Chinese medicine is a complementary medicine. It replaces neither a medical diagnosis nor a treatment prescribed by your doctor. In case of acute or unusual symptoms, consult your doctor first. Never change an ongoing treatment without medical advice. The practice is happy to work alongside conventional medical care.
