Tuina is a Chinese massage form in its own right — literally “push and grasp”. It aims to promote the circulation of energy, remove blockages in the meridians and influence organ function. Acupuncture points are stimulated with the hands rather than with needles, and various massage techniques are applied to loosen and relax muscles and tendons.

Strong stimulation can also break down adhesions and mobilise deposits in the adipose and connective tissue beneath the skin, which corresponds to a detoxifying effect. It is therefore advisable to drink plenty of warm water after a massage, so that metabolic waste is eliminated more quickly.

Tuina is a good alternative for people who are apprehensive about needles, as well as for children. It is performed fully clothed on a massage table, in loose comfortable clothing.

Chinese medicine is a complementary medicine. It replaces neither a medical diagnosis nor a treatment prescribed by your doctor. In case of acute or unusual symptoms, consult your doctor first. Never change an ongoing treatment without medical advice. The practice is happy to work alongside conventional medical care.
